Exactly on the second year of Gaby Elradha Poetry's being a part of IDN Media, she finally is selected as the other Timmy of the Month! Always proactive in helping other teams, she also loves giving ideas and insights in every meeting to ensure that our work can improve every single day. This is found to be aligned with our fourth Timmyness: "Being active and collaborative rather than competitive".
Congratulations, Gaby, you're selected as the Timmy of the Month! Can you share about your role at IDN Media?
Thanks, I’m so privileged! Anyway, I'm the Social Media Manager of Popmama.com and Popbela.com of IDN Media. Not only creating contents but I also ensure that the traffic of each platform is going well. That's why I always need to do website analysis as well.
Anyway, how do you like being the Social Media Manager at IDN Media?
A good question—a bit complicated, too, to be honest. If I really have to answer, yes, I like it. I believe that I won't be able to give all the best out of me when I don't like what I'm doing. When I like what I'm doing, I'll work on the jobs wholeheartedly and I'll end up being so attentive on the little details.
With what you do, how do you claim yourself to be helpful for the people around you and the company?
As simple as helping others on small stuff like giving some information that they need—whenever they need me, I'll try to always be there for them. However, for the more objective one, I'll work as best as I can and prove it by presenting the result. Hopefully, it’s good enough to let others see.
What's your guideline to undergo your own life?
Being honest is all I personally always believe. Admitting whether we can do a certain job or not is one of the forms of honesty. Being honest will bring us to a commitment and once we commit, we'll give our totality to do something related to the job itself.
How do you usually tackle problems—life problems and problems at work?
I'll manage to calm myself down. After that, I'll try to seek the root of the problem as well as a solution that I can propose. Well, just an ordinary way to overcome an obstacle, nothing special. However, I always believe that eventually communicating the problem with the person involved is needed. Although you just have to agree to disagree at last.
How do you react over any negative news—literally any negative news currently happening in our country?
To answer critically, yeah, I know there are many sources in which we can get much information about a certain case nowadays. Therefore, putting on a filter to pick the most accurate information is absolutely a basic need. In essence, don't be too reactive and too soon to judge. Seek for the truth through a comparative approach by reading many news sources.
Why are you grateful to become a part of IDN Media?
The appreciative culture, of course. We're obliged to say "Congratulations!" or as simple as "Kudos!" to your coworkers who have just finally achieved something cool. Although there are many things to work on, this culture helps me maintain the positive energy within me.
What do you dream about?
I want to have a startup company that has the main concern in technology. Plus, I'd really love to have this started soon by me and my husband later. I want to keep being a modern person who is able to follow the digital flow—I refuse to be an old-school.
What's your saying for other Social Media Manager out there so that you guys can give your best performance at work?
We have to be able to upgrade ourselves because simply being a Social Media Specialist won't make you special. Remember there are a lot of people out there who have an interest in being a Social Media Specialist. Keep on improving so that you'll always be able to settle in the middle of the competition. Well, that's the first, the second one is attentive to details since we work in platforms that have high numbers of audiences, so be careful! However, if you make a mistake, it's okay, too. We're human! Third, do meditation, folks. We have a lot of pressure, so we risk having heavier stress. Trust me, people nowadays do need meditation!
What do you do to keep being happy while working in a fast-paced company?
Me-time is basically significant. Never forget our goal and have some friends (a few friends is okay, too) whom you can rely on, whom you can tell your stories to as always.
A reliable and passionate Timmy like Gaby realizes, "You can't really bring changes unless you take responsibility and ownership of the work". Her ownership is unquestionable and she has always done anything to make herself better. That way, she believes that she’ll be able to give her totality for the company, especially.
Timmy of the Month is a reward for Timmys who embrace Timmyness fully, take extra miles in doing their job, spread positivity (yes, it's all about positive vibe), and have a very high standard of integrity.
