Living in this beautiful universe, we’ve received abundant gifts. Lungs that breathe air, eyes that see beautiful creatures. We now have the chance to ask our Timmys of the Month, Saraya Adzani (Aya) and Irma Yudistirani (Irma), about their roles at IDN Media and opinions about being grateful.
Aya and Irma, congratulations on being selected as the Timmy of the Month! For the first question to start, we’d like to know about your roles at IDN Media.
Aya:
As a PR & Partnership Associate, of course, I need to meet new people, communicate with them, and establish relationships with strategic partners in order to increase the IDN Media's brand equity.
Irma:
I’m the IDN Times Bali Editor and I have to assign our reporters to cover any possible news in the Bali region, check every article accuracy, and write headlines. However, because IDN Times Bali is still relatively new, I also need to meet many new people in order to introduce this IDN Times Bali or propose a partnership.
I’m glad that you two seem to be very excited about what you do! Anyway, can you share what’s your passion?
Aya:
Sometimes people just happen to be passionate about anything since I’m interested in a lot of things, really. I’m always curious about anything, especially the new one that I’m not familiar with.
Irma:
I honestly am also one of the people who are passionate about anything because I always do my best, give all of me in whatever I do, including in my job. Look, I believe one great thing actually comes from a compilation of little things. I started my career at IDN Times as the Community Editor, but then I was given a bigger responsibility to be the Editor at IDN Times Bali sometime later.
Wow, it’s cool of you two! Now, can you tell us what is it like to work at IDN Media?
Aya:
I know that not all companies are friendly to diversities. Diversities are not merely about race or gender, but it is more about perspectives. In IDN Media, we are able to express ourselves without the fear of being judged. I am also glad that I’m still able to give a small positive contribution to the company.
Irma:
People always see an Editor as a person who 24/7 works in a fast-paced, frustrating atmosphere. That isn’t incorrect, but in IDN Media, the working environment, as well as the people, make me wholeheartedly do what I do. The tension is strong, but not pressing at all. IDN Media’s value on inclusivity is exactly why I want to keep being a part of IDN Media.
Okay, now about personal life, how are you grateful for your own life and what self-guideline do you have?
Aya:
It’s very simple: I'm grateful that I have the freedom to choose. Simple things like to choose what kind of tasks I want to do today, what clothes to wear. Not everyone has options in their life, so sometimes we take options for granted. Kindness is another key to gain a true life. That’s why I believe that in a world where you can be anything, be kind.
Irma:
I myself, my dad, mom, and siblings are all healthy and I can’t be more grateful for it. That way, we have the chance to serve each other every single day. It’s a miracle that exists, but I keep reminding myself that being grateful has to come up together with being kind as well as appreciating others and everything around me.
In the middle of their busy work, these two Timmys of the month encourage us to focus more on the positive attitude we should bring to life. A chain reaction of positive thoughts, outcomes, and energy--the vibes IDN Media wants to always actualize--will simply follow.
Timmy of the Month is a reward for Timmys who embrace Timmyness fully, take extra miles in doing their job, spread positivity (yes, it's all about positive vibe), and have a very high standard of integrity.
