Meet Timmy at #TT5: Stories from Timmys Having Grown Together with IDN Media for Years

Time is round and it rolls quickly. The #TT5 on October 17-18, 2019 is a celebration for all who have contributed to the success of IDN Media. A simple celebration, a gathering of friends, a hope that IDN Media can always flap its wings, all will be a joy that never ends. Now, we’re going to have two faithful Timmys who have stayed in IDN Media since September 2015 and May 2016: Angel Febriana from Finance division and Donny Andrian from IDN Event division.

Angel, who has been a part of IDN Media for 4 years, shared with us about her reason joining IDN Media in the first place. She said, “It was close to my home. What a simple reason, I know. IDN Media had no well-known name back then, it was still Indonesian Times.” She went on, “Why I still want to work at the company up to now is definitely because of its flexibility, no seniority. Other than that, there are still a lot of things that IDN Media needs to keep on improving. I sincerely want to be a part of the process,” she made sure that she wanted to stay faithful with the company prioritizing its employees. 

On the other hand, joining IDN Media, for Donny, was a brand new challenge that he could take on. To reveal what was challenging for him, he said, “It was my first time working in a full online media company. Well, I once worked at a media company too, but it was half printed and half online.” Donny emphasized the values of IDN Media that made him stay for years in the company, “Work-culture in IDN Media is fun and it very appreciates diversities, so I’m not just working here, I’m having fun as well.” 

The memory when IDN Media Creative Lab Surabaya, our one and only office at that time, still consisted of less than 20 employees was still in Angel’s remembrance. She was impressed, “The work hours usually started from 10:00 AM until 02:00 PM only and we had nothing to do. Everything has changed now! We have so many expenses, invoices each day. Even we start at 09:00 AM until 06:00 PM, the work will keep on flowing! Wow, I’ve witnessed how much IDN has grown,” she proudly explained her amazement for the rapid development of the company.

Donny also felt the same way. “Really, I wouldn’t have expected the growth of IDN Media would be this rapid. We occupied a small co-working space at that time, but we now are even moving to a more massive building.” Bring capable of hiring many new Timmys already, Donny believed IDN Media was successful to keep on following the fast-paced digital development. “IDN Media indeed deserves this massive progress, but what we’ve got will never stop us from making breakthroughs,” he added.
