Indonesia Writers Festival 2020 to be Held Virtually on September

As the COVID-19 epidemic in Indonesia shows no signs of easing, IDN Times is going to hold Indonesia Writers Festival (IWF) 2020 on 21-26 September virtually. This year, IWF 2020 carries the same vision as it has always been, to empower Indonesians through writing. The pandemic that alleges people to stay at home turns writing into an alternate activity helping people encounter this moment of hardship.
IWF 2020 will bring together speakers with diverse backgrounds. Later on, these featured speakers are to present diverse points of view regarding the literary landscape for constructive public discourse. Among many others, Fenty Effendy (Journalist and Writer), Kalis Mardiasih (Gender Equality Activist), Agus Noor (Author), and Brilliant Yotenega (Writer and Founder of Storial.co), are some of the reputable names invited to this annual event of IDN Times.
Participants are allowed to take part in a writing competition as well as to try their hands to write on IDN Times Community platform. Recently, IDN Times Community has become one of the largest and most notable writing communities in Indonesia with more than 30,000 active writers every month.
Uni Lubis, Editor-in-Chief of IDN Times - “Held amid the outbreak, 'Be Creative During the Pandemic' becomes a very relevant theme to be discussed. Due to the fact that millennials should study or work from home, they need to maintain their immunity by thinking and acting creatively. We are grateful for the speakers that finally make it to come to this event. IWF 2020 strengthens our commitment to continually empower the society through writing, to give more #PositiveImpact to the community. Receiving an award for the 'Best in Audience Engagement' category at Asia Digital Media Awards 2020 by WAN-IFRA (World Association of News Publishers), I’d like to express my gratitude as well. The highest appreciation for all the teams and community writers.”
