Indonesia Writers Festival 2021 by IDN Times, A Factual Evidence of Community Empowerment through Writing

Today, 25 October 2021, was the first day of the Indonesia Writers Festival by IDN Times. Returning this 2021, Indonesia Writers Festival by IDN Times is an independent festival marking the culmination of IDN Times Community Writers. The event, which would be held until 30 October 2021, aimed to empower and develop the community through writing by inviting experts and literacy activists coming from different backgrounds.
Indonesia Writers Festival 2021 by IDN Times would hold a variety of agendas, including Talk Show, Writing Class, and Writing Competition. The event was officially inaugurated by Winston Utomo (CEO of IDN Media) and Uni Lubis (Editor-in-Chief of IDN Times). The opening remarks went on with a session with the most well-known scriptwriters duo in Indonesia, Salman Aristo and Gita S. Noer. They brought about the topic of “Merintis Karier sebagai Penulis Skenario Film”. Then, Samuel Ray (Employer Branding Manager of Lazada), presented the second session about “The Power of Writing for Your Future Career”.
Indonesia Writers Festival by IDN Times understood that writing skill was needed not only by journalists or book writers but also those working in other sectors. Various business areas would surely need distinct writing skills. In line with the growing trends of the digital platforms, the interest in creative writing was also driving up significantly. Observing the existing needs and trends, Indonesia Writers Festival 2021 by IDN Times settled in to accommodate it by democratizing information and empowering Indonesia through writing.
